Yoga Session Inclement Weather Policy
At Wild Elm Yoga, the safety and well-being of participants is our top priority. In the event of
inclement weather, particularly thunderstorms, we have established the following policy to
ensure a safe environment for all.
1. Monitoring Weather Conditions:
Instructors continuously monitor weather conditions before and during classes. In the event of
storms approaching, we will promptly assess the situation.
2. Lightning and Thunder Warning:
If you see lightning or hear thunder within a 30-second interval, this can pose a significant
threat to safety.
3. Class protocol:
– Immediate Action: Classes will be paused or ended if lightning and thunder are detected
together within a 30-second interval.
– Safety Precautions: Participants will be directed to move indoors (if not already inside)
and await further instructions.
– Resumption of Class: Classes can only resume once the storm passes, and it is deemed
safe to do so. This may involve waiting at least 30 minutes after the last clap of thunder or flash
of lightning.
4. Communication:
– Instructors will communicate updates to participants regularly. If a class must be cancelled,
notifications will be sent via email, social media, and/or text message (if applicable).
5. Refunds and Rescheduling:
In cases of class cancellations due to inclement weather, we will offer make-up classes,
credits toward future classes, or refunds – participant’s choice. (Options may differ with co-
hosted events.)
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize safety. Please come
prepared to adjust your plans in the event inclement weather affects your yoga practice.
Thank you for being part of the Wild Elm Yoga community!
